Brandon Beck is a law professor and former appellate attorney with the Federal Public Defender's Office.

Brandon Beck is a law professor, legal writer, appellate advocate, and expert in federal criminal law. He has written hundreds of appellate briefs and argued fifteen cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, including an argument before the en banc court. In 2019, he argued and won United States v. Davis before the United States Supreme Court. Three years later, in 2022, he persuaded the Supreme Court to grant certiorari and remand in United States v. Bates, resulting in a new sentence of time served. He has been quoted in Politico, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Examiner, and elsewhere. He writes and lectures on federal criminal law, constitutional law, criminal procedure, legal history, and appellate advocacy.
Brandon graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003, from Boston University in 2007, and from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2012. While in law school, he won the National Moot Court Competition as both an oralist and brief writer. In 2012, he was inducted into the Order of Barristers and the National Order of Scribes.
